Smoking
No cigarettes if you're under 18!
Is this a drag or not? Find out more and have your say...
You’re more likely to have health problems in the future if you start smoking at a young age. It can be really hard stubbing out that last cigarette but here are a few reminders as to why it’s a good idea.
If you smoke, you:
- have smelly clothes and breath
- have less money to spend on yourself
- get out of breath quicker
- could have serious breathing problems
- will get wrinkly skin
- risk getting a life-threatening disease
- put other people at risk of breathing in secondhand smoke
There are lots of things you can do to help you quit.
- Chew gum or fiddle with a pencil to distract you.
- Get friends and family to support you.
- Avoid places where you usually smoke.
- Throw away your cigarettes, lighter or matches.
- Get a prescription from your doctor for nicotine patches.
- Save the money you would have spent on cigarettes and treat yourself!
