Everyone feels "stressed out" at times. Maybe you feel miserable or stuck in a rut? These feelings can be caused by difficult situations at school or work, or by a problem with your family, friends, girlfriend or boyfriend.

If you're worried that you feel stressed or unhappy all the time and it's upsetting your everyday life - don't bottle it up!  There are several places you can turn to:

  • Your Personal Adviser - they'll listen to you and take you seriously.
  • Connexions Direct - you can e-mail an adviser about anything that's bothering you or chat online.  You can also phone or text.
  • A teacher at school that you trust.
  • Childline - 24 hours a day confidential helpline - 0800 1111.
  • Your doctor or school nurse.

It helps to know you're not the only one feeling like this.  You can read about people going through similar experiences on websites such as Childline or Connexions Direct and through some of the links on Fetch!   You can also download some really useful leaflets from the Childline website.

If your stress is because you are worrying about exams there are lots of things you can do to help you through it.
