While much of the music industry is based in London and the South-East, there are still opportunities in Nottinghamshire. There are plenty of venues needing sound technicians (such as theatres and concert halls), there are a handful of record companies, over 15 radio stations and around 25 recording studios and services. However, there’s a lot of competition for each vacancy.

Although there aren’t that many female sound engineers at the moment, the numbers are growing and women stand as good a chance of getting jobs as men.
