Financial service - Nottinghamshire information

Around 8,000 people in Nottinghamshire are employed in banking and insurance. The sector is expected to remain about the same over the next few years having recovered from a decline in the late 1990s.

There are some very large national companies based in Nottingham, including Experian, Capital One and the Bank of England regional headquarters.

Almost half of the jobs are administration and secretarial (but this is expected to decrease due to Internet banking and developments in ICT) and the majority of jobs are full time.

The skills most in demand are customer handling, ICT and communication.
