What's happening in the industry?

The need for people with languages is likely to grow. Popular business languages in the UK include French, German, Italian, Dutch and Spanish with Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Portugese, Russian and Eastern European languages increasing in popularity.  Fewer students are studying languages in school since the government decided they shouldn't be compulsory and this could have serious effect for future business in many job sectors.

Many volunteers work in the cultural sector (such as museums) and this is likely to increase as organisations have to show that they can add value to society. Public money for museums and libraries has decreased but now that national museums no longer charge entry, they have seen more visitors come through their doors
