You can
join a trade union from the age of 16. Trade unions
were formed to help protect workers from
employers who treated them unfairly; they can also give advice
if you get into trouble at work. There are different trade
unions depending on the the type of work you
do.
When you start
work you may be asked to join a union but not
employers recognise them. You can
