Training and Apprenticeships

Mechanic

If you want to go straight into work, it's best to try and get a job with training.  This will give you extra skills and more opportunities in the future.  You will be paid while you're doing job related studies.  Opportunities often arise in areas where there are shortages of skilled staff such as CAD technicians, IT Technicians, accountancy, quantity surveying and civil engineering

If you're ready to leave school and maybe do something a bit more practical but don't want to go straight into work, an Apprenticeship might be the right thing for you.

You could study for a work-based qualification, like an NVQ, which is assessed by carrying out tasks in a work environment.

For more information on Apprenticeship opportunities check out the National Apprenticeship Service.  There is also some information on Vacancies Online

MyChoiceNotts has details of local training providers who can help you find an apprenticeship.
